X- mas (Christmas)

Christmas for short is X-mas. X-mas is not about kids getting toys from a fat old man named Santa who rides a slay with a sack pf presents, it is about Jesus’ Birthday which is December 25th as you know. Here is how Jesus’ Birth worked:

God told Mary that she will have a baby and name it Jesus by telling an angel to go tell her that. God told Joseph that he will be married to Mary and that Mary will have a baby by giving Joseph a dream about it. He told both Mary and Joseph to go to Bethlehem to give birth. But when they got there, everyone there did not have any room to give birth in, except there was one man who didn't have any room, the man told them that he had a stable filled with animals and Mary about give birth and Joseph being worried about his wife, they both agreed and Mary gave birth to Jesus in the stable. God did not just have no guests to see the baby, He called wise men to go there by letting them notice there was a star brighter then all the stars and the wise men followed it and they were led to Jesus. God also called shepherds by letting them hear and see angels singing about Christ as of Jesus and led them to the stable. And the wise men gave gifts and felt happy, and the shepherds also felt happy, too. But when the king heard that there was a baby that is a King that is higher then all kings, he told his soldiers to kill every baby in Bethlehem, but Mary, Joseph, and Jesus escaped safely.

Now Jesus’ Birthday wasn’t really on the 25th of December some people have different guesses, like some say September 29th and some say September 30th, so no one really knows when Jesus was born. But I am not saying that people who believe that Jesus is the true meaning of Christmas don't get any Christmas presents on Christmas, they still can get presents. Well, now I hope you actually don’t believe that Santa exists, but try to believe that Jesus is the true meaning of Christmas.

Now, you know the story of Jesus' birth, well I did not tell you why God, the Creator, send his son, Jesus, to Earth, yet, in the other paragraph before? In 1 John 4:9-10, it says,"This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." Well, he sacrificed for our sins, but this is an Easter story, but I will tell you it anyway.

Well Jesus was first arrested for doing nothing (At first the people loved him, but for some reason they hated him, so they were going to him). But there was still hope for Jesus to live, there was a governor of the town named Pilate. Now Pilate wanted Jesus to live, so he made the people make the decision to crucify Jesus and set free Barabbas or set free Jesus and crucify Barabbas. He let them choose because he thought that they would set free Jesus, but he was wrong, they chose Barabbas to set free, but most of all they wanted Jesus crucified. So he was crucified, but the people felt sorry for Him. While Jesus was being crucified, he asked God to forgive their sins, and God did. Three days after, Jesus was risen from the dead and went back to Heaven.

Now Jesus suffered for us now we have to appreciate that, but there was something Jesus said before going back to Heaven, he said, in Matthew 28:19, ..."
go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"... Well now you know the true meaning of Easter and the meaning of Christmas, and you also know why God sent his only Son to Earth, but will you do what Jesus said for you to do????

Character Clue Post: Patience

Patience vs. Restlessness
Accepting a difficult situation from God without giving Him a deadline to remove it.

Patience is a good thing to have in a bad time and the bad time is good thing, too. The reason that a bad time is a good thing, is because God is trying to build up the character of Christ in you, and the character clue that talks about this is reverence: Reverence vs. Disrespect: Awareness of how God is working through the people and events in my life to produce the character of Christ in me. Here is a story of how it is used and how it is not used:

Once upon a time there were two young Christian men, one's name was Bob and the other Fred. They both wanted to be something that works for Christ, like a missionary, but they have to have a good testimony to say in the church, a reason they want to become one to be one. They both had a bad situation, for Bob had family problems by his parents were angry at him same with Fred. Bob kept it, but Fred was impatient and prayed that God would take the arguments away, and He did. Bob made his speech and said it and everyone liked it. Fred said his and nobody clapped for him. The pastor went up to the stage and whispered in his ear,"I am very sorry, but... ...you... didn't... make... !" The pastor did not finish his sentence because Fred was weeping and was running to the exit, for he knew what he was saying, he was saying that he is not going to be a missionary, but Bob did.

You see don't get rid of the bad situation that will help you with your character of Christ in you because then your character will be not be strong. Well, I hope you use patience to help you in your life.

Character Clue Blog: Responsibility

Responsibility vs. Unreliability
Knowing and doing what both God and other are expecting from me.

Responsibility is like doing a duty without messing up or slacking off. Here is a example story of it:
Once upon a time there were two guards who were guarding the king for any enemy assasins. Both of them became hungry and one went off to go eat something, but the other stayed there and faced the stage of hunger and starvation. But when the king found this out he awarded the guard who stayed, but said to the other guard," Never make this mistake ever again." Then the next night, both guards were tired and one fell asleep (of course it was the one who made mistakes, let us call him guard 2 and the other, guard 2), but guard 1 stayed awake. During the the night, the enemy sent assasins, and guard 1 fought them off and saved the king. And then when the king found this out he gave guard 1 a day off to rest, but for guard 2, he became exacuted for his mistake.
In this story, who would you want to be? You would probaly choose guard 1 would you, probaly because he was the good example, but you would probaly not want to be guard 2 because he was the bad example of this story. So which example should you put in your life? Of course the good example and that would be responsibility, but the bad example would be unreliability. The king stand for others and God. So I hope that you use the good example in your life.

Our New President: Barack Obama

Well, Obama won the presidential debate against McCain, and this post is about the good things about Obama, so here it is:

What are some good things about Obama? The good things about Obama is that he voted some good things like, well, he
seem to care about the needs of others, he also was a graduate of Harvard School of Law. And he is very good in encouraging people to donate time and money in his campaign in the last election. People seemed to be attracted to his eloquent speeches.

Here is an outline of it:

I. Cares about the needs of people.

a. It is a good thing for the some people who need money.

b. Well, only democrats do this so everyone can have the same amount of money, the opposite of this would be the republican way where every one has to work hard for the money, but if they don’t work hard they won’t get the much money.

II. Well I can’t really tell about the Harvard University so I won’t make an outline about it.

III. People donated money and time to his campaign to the last election, probably because :

a. He was the first African American candidate in the U.S.

b. He was probably attractive to some people.

IV. His speeches.

a. People liked his speeches.

b. To some people the way he said it was pretty attractive.

V. And that was all I could think of.

History facts of the Susan Constant, Massasoit, And the James River

The Susan Constant was one of the ships that sailed into the Chesapeake Bay. The two other ships were the Godspeed and the Discovery. Well, according to my research, “Susan Constant, at 120 tons, was the largest of three ships of the English Virginia Company that were led by Captain Christopher Newport on the 1607 voyage that resulted in the founding of the first permanent English settlement in North America, Jamestown, in the new Colony of Virginia. On that voyage, she carried 71 colonists, all male.”

Here is a little out line of the Susan Constant:

I. The Susan Constant

a. Served as a merchant ship through, at least, 1615.

b. No one knows what happened to that ship.

Massasoit was a chief of an Indian tribe that had Samoset and Squanto. Massasoit’s tribe made a treaty with Pilgrims. According to my research, “Massasoit (died 1661) was a principal leader of the Wampanoag people in the early 1600s who encouraged friendship with English settlers. As leader of the Wampanoag, Massasoit exercised control over a number of Indian groups that occupied lands from Narragansett Bay to Cape Cod in present-day Massachusetts.

Here is an outline of chief Massasoit:

II. Massasoit's different Indian Names

a. Ousamequin

b. Woosamequin

c. Asuhmequin

d. Oosamequen

e. Osamekin

f. Owsamequin

g. Owsamequine

h. Ussamequen

The James River was found by colonists that ran into it and named it the James River, to honor their king, King James the first. According to my research,” The Native Americans called the James River the Powhatan River.” The definition of James River would be, “A river, about 547 km (340 mi) long, rising in central Virginia and flowing eastward to Chesapeake Bay. The river is navigable to Richmond for large craft.” I am sorry but I don’t have an outline for the James River. Well I hope you learned something.

Character Clue Post: Love

Love vs. Selfishness

Giving to others basic need without having as my motive personal reward.

I. Love

a. Love is like helping people with things and stuff like that.

b. But without having ANY REWARDS.

II. An Example of Love

a. Lets say you see a person in crutches who is trying to open the door.

b. What should you? You should help them open the door.

c. Another example is like you see an old lady carrying groceries and she has a lot more.

d. What should you do? Of course help her carry them.

e. But never ask for a REWARD or even use to get one.

f. Do you know why you shouldn’t ask? There are two reasons:

1. It would be rude.

2. You wouldn’t be showing love.

III. An Example of the Opposite of Love

a. Lets say you see your brother/sister in a struggle with his/her homework.

b. The opposite of love is selfishness, so the bad example would be: You would not help him and use your time first and that be the opposite of availability another character clue.

c. And that would be Self-centeredness.

d. Another bad example would be like you help some one right but except you ask for a reward and that would be rude even if you get the reward.

e. You should not try to use the bad example, instead use the good one in your life.

The Economy

According to my research, “the economy is organized on the capitalist model and is marked by steady growth, low unemployment and inflation, a large trade deficit, and rapid advances in technology.” And according to http://www.findingdulcinea.com/guides/Politics/US-Economy.html, the economy is “one of the most important aspects of American society.”

I. The Economy is very scary today?

a. A lot people are losing there jobs

b. The world should be scared, too, because if the U.S. messes up the same thing will happen to the other countries.

c. But there are People who are trying to fix that like:

1. The Congress

2. The Government

3. And maybe others

II. The economy is in trouble and the stocks are going down.

III. Which stocks are going down?

a. AIG

b. S&P 500

c. NASDAQ

d. Dow industrial

e. Dell Inc.

I. Who will stop this crisis, John McCain!

a. I think McCain should be president, because I think that Obama does not have the experience in the U.S. Government, because McCain knows how it feels like in war and if he becomes president he will try his hardest to help.

b. John McCain will save the economy from this crisis!!!!!!

Interviews

What I learned from my interviews is that I should use BS computer engineering and BS computer science for training to be an engineer. Some of the traits of this job is, is that you should be logic smart, be persistent, don’t give up easily, and be artistic. From all of my interviews, they all said that you have got to like building things. Engineers also program stuff.
Engineers use computers a lot.

One of the reasons I interviewed engineers is because I like building things. Another reason is that my dad was an engineer and most of my friend's dads were engineers, too. Those people are the ones who I interviewed and guess what they are all Filipino. And that is all I learned from my interviews.

Our Government

The United States system of government is a democratic one. It is a form of government of the people, by the people, and for the people. This means that over all, people get to choose how they are governed. According to the to the Webster’s dictionary the constitution is the fundamental or organic law of the country.

Our government is divided into three branches.

  • The Legislative Branch or Congress, this branch makes laws this takes place with representatives and senators, in the U.S. Capitol.
  • The Executive Branch, this branch tells the United States the laws written by the Congress this takes place with the president and vice president, in the White House.
  • The Judicial Branch, this branch sees if the law agrees with the Constitution this takes place with the Supreme Court and in the Supreme Court.

To be president you have to be 35 years old, a born citizen in the U.S., and a resident in the United States for 14 years, it is the same thing with the vice president. A senator has to be at least 30 years old, a born citizen of the U.S. for 9 years, and has to be a resident of the state he or she was elected from. For representatives they have to be 20 years old, a born citizen of the U.S. for 7 years, and have to be a resident to the state they were elected.

The flag of the United States is composed of the following colors:

  • Red: signifies valor and bravery.
  • White: signifies purity and innocence
  • Blue: signifies vigilance, perseverance, and justice

The government can contact you at home by e-mails, a phone, fax, and more.

The government is also involved in school through various grant programs and other groups.

There is a lot more things that the government is involved in like hospitals, police stations, libraries, fire departments, the post office, and other places.
