Christmas for short is X-mas. X-mas is not about kids getting toys from a fat old man named Santa who rides a slay with a sack pf presents, it is about Jesus’ Birthday which is December 25th as you know. Here is how Jesus’ Birth worked:
God told Mary that she will have a baby and name it Jesus by telling an angel to go tell her that. God told Joseph that he will be married to Mary and that Mary will have a baby by giving Joseph a dream about it. He told both Mary and Joseph to go to Bethlehem to give birth. But when they got there, everyone there did not have any room to give birth in, except there was one man who didn't have any room, the man told them that he had a stable filled with animals and Mary about give birth and Joseph being worried about his wife, they both agreed and Mary gave birth to Jesus in the stable. God did not just have no guests to see the baby, He called wise men to go there by letting them notice there was a star brighter then all the stars and the wise men followed it and they were led to Jesus. God also called shepherds by letting them hear and see angels singing about Christ as of Jesus and led them to the stable. And the wise men gave gifts and felt happy, and the shepherds also felt happy, too. But when the king heard that there was a baby that is a King that is higher then all kings, he told his soldiers to kill every baby in Bethlehem, but Mary, Joseph, and Jesus escaped safely.
Now Jesus’ Birthday wasn’t really on the 25th of December some people have different guesses, like some say September 29th and some say September 30th, so no one really knows when Jesus was born. But I am not saying that people who believe that Jesus is the true meaning of Christmas don't get any Christmas presents on Christmas, they still can get presents. Well, now I hope you actually don’t believe that Santa exists, but try to believe that Jesus is the true meaning of Christmas.
Now, you know the story of Jesus' birth, well I did not tell you why God, the Creator, send his son, Jesus, to Earth, yet, in the other paragraph before? In 1 John 4:9-10, it says,"This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." Well, he sacrificed for our sins, but this is an Easter story, but I will tell you it anyway.
Well Jesus was first arrested for doing nothing (At first the people loved him, but for some reason they hated him, so they were going to him). But there was still hope for Jesus to live, there was a governor of the town named Pilate. Now Pilate wanted Jesus to live, so he made the people make the decision to crucify Jesus and set free Barabbas or set free Jesus and crucify Barabbas. He let them choose because he thought that they would set free Jesus, but he was wrong, they chose Barabbas to set free, but most of all they wanted Jesus crucified. So he was crucified, but the people felt sorry for Him. While Jesus was being crucified, he asked God to forgive their sins, and God did. Three days after, Jesus was risen from the dead and went back to Heaven.
Now Jesus suffered for us now we have to appreciate that, but there was something Jesus said before going back to Heaven, he said, in Matthew 28:19, ..."go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"... Well now you know the true meaning of Easter and the meaning of Christmas, and you also know why God sent his only Son to Earth, but will you do what Jesus said for you to do????
